We're shocked by Trump and Musk's antics because we judge them against the idea that governments should serve the people. But they have no such intention. Government for them is simply about seizing power and wealth.
Let's stop being shocked, and build a global, democratic counter-movement.

If there’s any good emergency reason why Britain should re-join the EU in some arrangement, it’s Trump’s trade war. These megalomaniacs in the White House are courting global disaster, and we need to stick with our friends

Trump can't beat the whole world.

If Canada, Mexico, the EU, the UK and maybe even China agreed to united and coordinated action against US tariffs, he would have to back down.

The only way to vanquish the biggest bully in the playground is by assembling overwhelming numbers.

The United States literally spent trillions of dollars on defending its democracy during the Cold War from external autocracy.

It's unfathomable to witness US democracy be so easily and rapidly dismantled from the inside.

It's an unconscionable betrayal of American history, values and sacrifice.

This sad-sack cunt is about to get a brute lesson in reality. Canada is a proud, brilliant country. It'll never be subsumed into the US. Instead Trump is going to damage his own economy and crater his support.

You know what?

The EU & UK should put tariffs on US goods (from red states) in solidarity with Canada and Mexico.

Rather than watching others get bullied and waiting our turn - we should unify against this bullying until the bully drops that behaviour.

Trump is unleashing terror www.taxresearch.org.uk/Blog/2025/01... Trump has made clear what he intends to do. He is planning that the people of the USA be oppressed by fear. His Age of Aggression is being rolled out at breakneck speed. It is the route to totalitarianism.

Best thing our allies can remember: if you stand up to Trump you intimidate him and he will back down. If you crawl to him (like his sycophantic politicians) he will not respect you and will eventually throw you under the bus.

Musk's fascist salutes are a signal, showing how far he intends to go. They point to the destruction of democracy he seeks, the impunity, the violent pursuit of power.
They point to the empire he wants to build, and to the degradation of all our lives as he sets out to crush our humanity.

The problem with millennials and Gen Z isn't TikTok. It's that we're not half as delusional as our parents. We recognize patterns a lot easier. We know who burns villages just to acquire the land. We know who destroys the food supply. We know who breaks treaties. We know who profits from genocide.
