I vote we remove the term childish from hobbies. Like Lego. Video games. Action figure collecting. Stuff like that.

Once you're an adult, you don't have to suddenly stop enjoying things. You don't have to be boring and only like sports, stocks, and politics.

I been said that actuaries tell us the truth. Oh COVID is mild? What do life insurance companies say about that?

Climate change is not real? Then why are insurance companies planning to refuse coverage to certain places?

Like I've said before, if you have any doubts about climate change, just go to a super-boring insurance conference and listen to the super-boring panels where they dryly talk about the growing threat of disasters so catastrophic and unpredictable in scope they simply cannot be insured at any price.
Wild how the Fed chair saying that *entire regions of the United States* won’t be able to get a mortgage in the next decade barely registered as a news event

It should be illegal for law enforcement to wear masks and not show ID.
This makes it too easy to impersonate law enforcement and murder people in their homes.

It really comes down to if you're gonna believe the everyday people of LA or a man who was convicted on 34 felony counts and previously insighted an insurrection.

Idk man but when the administration that tried to reject humanitarian aid for Los Angeles when it was burning tries to justify their illegal military occupation by saying they aren’t going to let LA burn it kinda sounds like bullshit

Every flashbang could instead be a meal for a poor kid. Every hotel room for a National Guardsman deployed to fire at our neighbors could house a homeless vet. Every "less-than-lethal" bullet pulled from a journalist's eye could be already needed healthcare for anyone else. All of this is a choice.

Boston Mayor Michelle Wu announced Tuesday that she signed an executive order seeking greater transparency from federal immigration officials. She said the city will submit regular Freedom of Information Act requests to find out who ICE is detaining and on what grounds.

The cruelty in today's politics feels horribly corrosive. Bringing up that hard-working immigrant families — undocumented, yes, but not violent criminals — are being ripped apart based on immigration status doesn't bring compassion or even pause, but gleeful cheers.

Don't just say it's unconstitutional, remind people that the constitution is full of very good ideas designed to prevent authoritarianism, and most people who want to ignore it want that specifically because they are authoritarian.

BREAKING: A few minutes ago, a vehicle of three people was rammed by a truck belonging to federal immigration authorities in Boyle Heights, CA. According to security footage shown to me, they deployed chemical munitions & detained the driver at gunpoint. All are US citizens according to the wife.

It’s completely insane that US troops are illegally deployed to suppress domestic opposition and it’s not uniformly condemned by the press and political elite.

Investigations are now underway into officers and ICE agents who fired crowd-control munitions at dangerously close range. In case after case, the situation only escalated when force was used against peaceful protesters.

Arresting immigrants who are actively pursuing the legal pathways available to them outside of the immigration courtrooms where they must go to fulfill their obligations seems like a great way to disincentive immigrants from pursuing the legal pathways available to them

Donald Trump wants a massive military parade for his birthday—tanks, jets, 6,600 troops—all on YOUR dime.

It’s grotesque. A wannabe king playing dress-up with taxpayer dollars.

I introduced the HAPPY BIRTHDAY Budget Act to block this nonsense. If he wants a party, he can pay for it himself.

can we stop saying 'deported' when we mean 'kidnapping and shipping to a third country with no relationship to the origin of this person'.
