“If we stayed silent, didn’t stand up for ourselves, they would say this is how it always was… this is what the people wanted. No. They can’t say that. Because it has gone down in history, that we resisted fiercely. That we fought for a different future, until we couldn’t. That legacy lives in us.”

THEMATIC BONE TEMPLE SPOILERS:

Have been trying to figure out why The Bone Temple's ending hit me so hard, and it's because the last act -- and especially last scene -- are about finding ways to teach children to be good people when the world seems intent on corrupting them. Which hit home!

Visited the Bone Temple last night and hell yeah! I love a sequel that meaningfully expands the story and themes to the point where it makes me like the previous one even more.

This is a great thread filled with incredible examples of creativity, ingenuity, and janky concept art that was infinitely more valuable than anything ai could do.

The summer of watching Twin Peaks every Sunday night was one of the best summers of my life. I still regularly think about out how much of a gut punch that ending was in the best way.

I’ve had a few days to think about it and I gotta say, I think this movie rules. It’s sweaty, it’s morally complicated, it’s got a BANGER soundtrack.

Beyond just the games industry, I think this is actually some of the most resonant writing about our current “AI moment”.
While not nearly the most important thing going on, I wrote some jokes about why this year AI in video games is going to be the absolute most annoying debate. Even more annoying than it already is. Just deeply annoying.

Here are the movies that best spoke to the political reality of 2025 — a year when the United States government wantonly wielded violence, abuse, and corruption against its own citizens and the world at large. (1/11)

I’ve never felt less alone in the world than after hearing @bb.wavelengths.online mention 1000x Resist, Idle Slayer AND Ted Chiang’s short story “Hell is the Absence of God” in the span of 5 min on this GOTY episode. All extremely “me” stuff, but thankfully not *just* me. Maybe it’s you stuff too…

This is hardly an original thought, but it's confounding how social media can give and take at the same time. And how the balance can get thrown off without you noticing for months or even years.

It's really hitting me at the end of the year, as I see people sharing their work and their feelings

anything you watch at the holidays is a holiday movie. and that's why my two favorite holiday movies to watch every year are the silence of the lambs and the poseidon adventure.
