Kinda irritated with my algorithm, it should have been showing me this guy YEARS ago.

Gonna try his chicken stock tonight.

He's very relatable, too, cuz if *I'D* ever worked directly under Heston Blumenthal at The Fat Duck, I'd never shut up about it, either. :V

This is such a bad take I had to block the person no matter how many smart people I like follow them lmao

This is presumes that all creative output must be availed to the public. This is stupid. You do not owe everyone a behind-the-scenes look at your development if you don’t want to.

Someone has just restored "Daicon 3" from a rare 8mm copy.
It's the best version to date.

I was revisiting some existentialist texts to try to work through some thoughts on AI, but this piece uses Beauvoir to brilliantly articulate what it means to exist as a human with freedom and why AI cannot achieve it.

Kids have always been prepared to devour every comic in front of them it’s just that we’ve been worse about actually putting them in front of them. Adults either are ashamed of their hold on young readers or so unashamed, they want the industry to focus on them as they become more insufferable men.

So much of the hideous bullshit of modern business makes a lot more sense after you realize that the “customer“ for the products being peddled aren’t actual human beings that go “Oh, that looks good, I’ll buy that,” but the investors shoveling money into the burn pits of these go-nowhere companies.

A discussion I’ve been having with coworkers centres around how the actual ad concept is also bad, and one of the problems with AI is the perceived speed and ease of use removes some important friction. 1/
McDonald's has taken down a Christmas ad made with AI following online backlash

The company said the moment served as "an important learning" as it explored "the effective use of AI"

Sometimes people are like "aren't you worried about the kids and their nonsensical new brainrot memes"

But like, the thing is, I can still spot a member of my internet generation by how they respond to "badger badger badger badger"

Playing with language and rhythm is fun, it'll be fine!
One of the things we've enjoyed the most about the six-seven phenomenon is the way it comes with a gesture, which we've also seen represented in emoji form as:
🫴 six-seven 🫳
“6-7” belongs in the dictionary, actually

Every few months he trots this out hoping that this time the comics community isn't going to go ape****.

And then the community drags him for a full 24 hours and he goes into hiding again.

Artists feel pressured to make new art too quickly at the moment. Normalise artists fucking disappearing for months. Just walk off into the woods for a year and come back with a single sketch. It’s good for you
