This is insane not just the explicit "go break the 4A" substance but how they knew how bad it was, acting in guilty paranoia to cover it up and suppress the written evidence.

Ice storms are worse than snow storms. This is counterintuitive to people who did not grow up in cold climates but it is 100% true. Ice is more dangerous to drive on, is more likely to bring down large tree limbs and powerlines, and is more difficult to see on the roads and clear from the roads.
I just looked at what our local weather guys are saying and realized that a lot of the South is supposed to get ice.
Guys, take this very, very seriously. You do not mess around with ice and you absolutely do not leave the house during or after an ice storm if it isn't an emergency.

This reminds me of my bus from DC to NYC that took twice as long as expected and was doing donuts in a NJ strip club parking lot. Suffice to say Amtrak is what we used last year to go from DC to NYC…
