Once I dreamt I was a Chaos Muppet. Soon I awaked, and I was myself again. Now I do not know whether I was an Order Muppet dreaming I was a Chaos Muppet, or whether I am now a Chaos Muppet, dreaming I am an Order Muppet.

We get paper cuts because paper thirsts for the blood of the humans who make it. It’s zombie trees.

My rep @adamsmith.house.gov keeps sending me emails asking if I support a bipartisan solution to the government shutdown. I know it’s just a way to poke me and see if I’m alive, but I answered and said no. No bipartisan anything. No collaboration. Block the MAGA controlled GOP at every turn.

A really old trick conservatives use is to accuse liberals of supporting an idea that would make sense under liberal values but that liberals don't actually support for tactical reasons. So you face a choice of either accepting the false accusation or you argue against your own values.

Saw a CBS ghoul trying to hound Hakeem fucking Jeffries about whether “illegal aliens get the ACA subsidies” by reasking the question multiple times after Jeffries said it wasn’t true. You’d think he was interviewing a Nixon staffer about watergate.

Back when I was on Mastodon I tried Toot!, Ivory, and Metatext. Each one had a different approach! I wasn’t really enjoying Mastodon though, so that colored my experience with those apps.

I’m convinced the main reason Miyazaki films have a reputation for being “cozy” in the West is because he actually writes and animates long moments of quiet into his stories, whereas Western animated films are usually a nonstop parade of loud music, sounds, noises and neon colors.

Miyazaki: in this movie two young girls (one is a toddler) are uprooted from everything they know to start new lives near the rural hospital their mother is in; she is possibly dying of TB. Their dad works several hours away and they are largely unsupervised.

AI Bros: so homey! So comfy!

I really like the writers that capture the side of Wade that is under constant pain, which is one of the reasons he’s always joking (to distract himself) and a reason he wants to relieve the pain of others. (The recent “Deadpools & Wolverines” had great “your nuts, but your heart is good” dialogue.)
Masked hero explaining how he’s in constant diseased agony and also can’t die, meaning hell be alive and in pain forever.
…followed up with the quip “So yeah, I’m good.”

My great grandmother also passed away in the 1980s, and when she was a young woman she was one of the first telephone operators in the U.S.. Now I’m trying to imagine how I’d explain telephone operators to a Zoomer.

I've been banging this drum for the past four months or so: DOGE and Russ Vought broke the appropriations process. What's the point of going through the arduous process of crafting 12 spending bills, clearing them through committee and getting them through two chambers if Trump does rescissions?
vermontgmg.bsky.social
If appropriations bills are not seen as enforceable contracts, why should any Member of Congress vote to fund any part of the federal government under Donald Trump? You're voting to provide money for lawlessness. www.doomsdayscenario.co/p/there-is-n...
There is no budget "deal" to be made
President Trump has so broken the constitutional framework as to make joint normal, responsible government impossible.

Yeah, it’s a legit science-fictiony take but I also liked the Force better when it was presented as something like the Tao, and anyone could be “strong in the Force” by being in harmony with it.

Sadly I bounced off the Clone Wars.

Coping with the fact that tomorrow is Monday by convincing local strangers to send me pictures of their pets throughout the week.
Chalk art on a sidewalk of a multcolored burst of angular lines, under which "GOOD DOG" is written in fluorescent yellow, pink, and black with an arrow pointing up to the line burst, encouraging people to put their dogs in the middle and take a photo because sharing pet pictures makes the world a better place. At the bottom of the sidewalk it says "SHOW US YOUR DOGS!" with the handle of the art instagram @rocks_on_the_block

I didn’t watch Bad Batch! I did learn later that as far back as the 1970s Lucas imagined the Force as being composed of microscopic creatures called Whills, making Midichlorians the go-betweens for them and their “carriers”.

It's a pretty big deal that the NYC Bar Association--one of the most prominent and respected bar associations in the country--is accusing the President of ordering the "unlawful summary execution," i.e. murder--of civilians in violation of US and international law. www.nycbar.org/press-releas...
