I can’t stop thinking about these precious children in Gaza dressing up as their favorite saints for All Saints Day.

May we all work for the day that every child in Gaza is cherished and protected.

God loves Gaza.

Catholic leaders spoke up about settler violence.
In response the IDF targeted the church where the Pope called every night to try and keep people safe.
The Church believes they were targeted.
The IDF continues to commit terror attacks.

“Fixing climate change is too expensive.”

Um no. What’s really expensive is doing nothing.

Climate disasters cost billions—and those costs are rising fast. Climate solutions save money and lives, as well as building a better world for us all 🌏💚

The primary problem with American evangelicalism is not that it is too evangelical, but that it is far too American.

The values and aspirations of the American empire are given religious sanction in the evangelical church. This the very opposite of what it means to be a prophetic people.

The kingdom of God does not and cannot come by the church making common cause with the Machiavellian politics of this world. The kingdom of God is something altogether other.

The church must ask itself this question: What are we profited if we gain the political world but lose our Christian soul?

There's that old saying:
"God created us in his image...
and we decided to return the favor."

Thats how you get this “jesus.”
Jesus was not white.
He did not speak English.
He carried a cross not a gun.
He chose to love his enemies rather than kill them.
That's the real Jesus.
This is an idol.

Today Christians around the globe remember Basil the Great, a 4th century church leader in Caesarea. This is one of my favorite quotes of his… it shows how radical the economic vision of the early church is, rooted in extravagant love for their neighbors.

The Adoration of the Magpie by Michael Leunig (1972). I know it’s meant to be cute (magpie instead of magi), but it’s a lovely truth that even the most lowly of God’s creation will adore him. As Jesus said, “If you keep quiet [about my coming], the stones will cry out.”

You don’t have to be a “cyclist” to support safe bike infrastructure in your city. You don’t have to ride bikes at all. You just have to understand the FACT that bike infrastructure makes getting around easier & safer for EVERYONE, saves us all public money, & makes cities generally more successful.
