June 14 was my 76th birthday, and I spent part of it at a No Kings March--my first ever protest. Late bloomer, I guess.

I've thought about this quote often since I saw "Hannah and Her Sisters" almost 40 years ago. The "Christian" idolizing of Kirk reminded me again how true this is. (I was raised in an evangelical family, so I know what Christians are supposed to be.)

Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house

Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse;

The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,

And 1 million Epstein files appeared from thin air

No matter how much money he grifts, buildings he plasters his name on, or how many lavish rooms he fills, there is one thing he will never have. Tomorrow morning, around my Christmas tree, they’ll be a room full of people who love me deeply without fear, loyalty tests, or applause. Karmic justice ✨

Pope Leo said in a Christmas Eve sermon that the story of Jesus being born in a stable because there was no room at an inn should remind Christians that refusing to help the poor and strangers today is tantamount to rejecting God himself. www.reuters.com/world/pope-l...

Seems like a good day to remind everyone that Trump has sued over jokes, tweets, interviews, and news articles but not once over any of the countless accusations of child rape. — That silence says everything.

Rachael Maddow's "Burn Order" details how a single copy of a document found in the National Archives by a researcher proved the government knew Japanese Americans posed no threat to national security, which then resulted in a U.S. apology and reparations.

A.I. would never have found that document.

The end goal is eugenicist. RFK and his ilk know that this will make vaccines more expensive and time-consuming — and therefore marginalized children are most likely to fall through the cracks.

This is about killing kids who aren't born to privilege.

U.S. plans to stop recommending most childhood vaccines, defer to doctors
The plan, which is not finalized, suggests children get fewer shots and shifts to a model telling parents to consult doctors to make their own vaccine choices.

Denmark’s vaccine schedule is the most minimalist in the developed world. So why is HHS trying to adopt it?

My new piece in @statnews.com.

Why Denmark's vaccine schedule works for Denmark — but not for the United States
With its vaccine schedule, “Denmark has made a values choice to accept preventable hospitalizations and illnesses that other countries have chosen to prevent.”

The algorithms aren't just breeding monsters on the right, or even pushing people to the right, though they are certainly doing that.

They reward rage and nihilism and disinformation of all kinds.

And nobody is helping kids understand that.

We should note that yesterday Senators Durbin and Duckworth issued formal criminal referrals for actions by members of the Trump regime. I think this needs to become far more common as we must attach criminality to their outrageous actions, and not let it get normalized as just boys being boys.

He grabbed classified records.
He grabbed foreign $$$.
He grabbed extortion payments from ABC and CBS.
He grabbed funds intended to feed starving children overseas.
He tried to grab an election.
It’s no surprise that he’d grab Venezuela’s oil.

One, Rob Reiner, lived a life of humanity and achievement. He brought us delight and joy. His memory will be a blessing.

The other, Donald Trump, will be remembered as an embarrassment to our nation.

Rather than allow for competitive bidding, the deals “covertly raise prices and inflate costs for governments.”
