If I had to write a bio for a dating site, I'd end up single forever.

I am begging everyone on here to read this new post by Bryan Johnson — the super rich tech guy who is now doing the “never die” protocol.

I need to talk about it with you all.

A quick Google tells me that Ms Albanese is Italian and works for the UN. So who/what exactly are we supposed to be sanctioning?
Because, uhhh, banning sales of a book because it's about certain topics is ...well, it's not "sanctions". We have a different word.

Maybe white male millennials should write better books. Or books more in line with the tastes of the reading public. Or both.
Is it, Annie. Is that the funny thing.

Let's briefly note the shifting definition of "diverse."

But never mind that. We're on to our proofs!

Let's see, we have a claim from "a story" in Compact magazine and a claim in an interview on a Vox podcast.

Polymarket reflects how people are wagering on a question. Not on it's actual in reality chances of happening.

And knowing that ... we'll be in DC in February and I'm definitely making sure we know what our non-federal sightseeing options are!
Remember when we never even needed to think about this stuff?

Is there a market for "personalized podcast"? If I choose your podcast to listen to, that's because I want to hear what YOU have to say - your thoughts, opinions, analysis, jokes are the entire point. If it's going to mirror what it thinks I already think .... Now it's pointlessly wasting my time.
So… these "questions of accuracy" were always going to happen once the Washington Post chose to make "Personalized AI Podcast" bullshit, bc statistically generative sycophantic bullshit engines are not, & frankly cannot be about "accuracy." You know that, right NPR? Please say you know that by now…
Questions of accuracy arise as Washington Post uses AI to create personalized podcasts
The Post calls the podcast an "AI-powered tool" that turns its articles into an audio news digest.

After we saw the first one, all I could come up with as a review was, "If we wanted to watch Dances With Wolves, we could have done that at home"

And most of the press at the time was so overwhelmingly positive, it felt like I must be crazy to not be "oooooohhh pretty colors special effects wowwww"

In my experience, the difficulty lies less in "not enough time to read the relevant books and articles" and more in "not enough time to run down all these interesting but off-topic rabbit holes I've discovered while looking up the relevant books and articles"

Rick Steves isn't hiding his light under a bushel, no.
It’s the “season of love and giving”…but this year, doesn’t it seem more like a “season of fear and taking”? Like many of you, I’ve been saddened by the human impact of draconian government budget cuts and how angry many housed Americans are at unhoused Americans.

Christ, Maddy, grab your brain with both hands and shake it back to life.

I worked with exclusively Spanish-speaking coworkers before Google Translate was born. I learned some Spanish from them, they learned some English from me, we treated each other like (drum roll) PEOPLE, & it was FINE.

A group Im involved with is currently stuck on fb, because even though we agree we'd *like* to go elsewhere, we can't find an option that provides the same (legitimate!) functionality of a platform that's had years to refine itself for this purpose before it started collapsing.
Kinda sucks 😖
We've never seen what it's like for a platform the scale of Facebook to go into full-on decline and eventual demise, but we are starting to, and it's not pretty.

Q: Can you explain what's going on with the bandages on Trump's hand?

LEAVITT: We've given you an explanation. The president is literally constantly shaking hands.
