Even having only seen On the Beach at Night Alone and In Front of Your Face, it's so comforting knowing there are like a million Hong Sang-Soo films, with a dozen more emerging every year. Those films were such palette cleansers, they felt so *necessary* in the moments I watched them.

One of the most fascinating dimensions of this whole project is that Longstreth worked on the album after helping produce Coffman's debut solo album--which is also an awesome record and presents her own side of the break-up--and *both albums end with a song that has the same production*. It's CRAZY

Nobody really seems to like the self-titled Dirty Projectors break-up album where David Longstreth more or less goes solo and uses a lot of vocal effects and makes a pop-soul opus about Amber Coffman leaving the band. But I love it, I think it has a knowing humor about its pathetic dimensions.

Peter Weir wrote & directed this romcom specifically as a vehicle for Depardieu to reach English-speaking audiences & it paid off. It’s a sweet, simple romance built on a thin premise but the chemistry of its leads lands the plane. Plus I'm always happy to see Robert Prosky pop up in anything.
