Canada’s new government is starting Automatic Federal Benefits. We’re going to pre-file taxes for up to 5.5 million low-income Canadians, so they get the benefits they are entitled to — money that would otherwise be left unclaimed.

One of my favorite things about NYC is whenever anyone runs for office here they are required to disclose their bagel order.

Now Carney wants to zombie it back to life to appease Trump.

Sora is not the real problem here. The real problem is that in 12, at most 24 months, there will be a Sora clone from Tencent or Alibaba that is just as good and can be run by anybody with a 5099, at which point everyone in society needs to rapidly agree to treat all digital video as fake, period.

You joke but Jewish Currents once had a get-together at a Brooklyn bar where a lesbian insult comic was doing a set and she kept pointing at our table and calling us "straight" — our transmasc managing editor got mad at her and she spent the end of the set apologizing. It was pathetic/hilarious

Nothing gets me more enraged than empty calls to "be aware of domestic violence" without using your power to alleviate the suffering of those in jails and prisons because of sexual violence. It's like a feminist prosecutor syndrome -- put more people in prison but don't lift a finger to help.
The Governor of Michigan seems to be aware of domestic violence and yet just denied clemency to multiple criminalized survivors of violence. Is that irony? Or is it just deeply enraging? www.michigan.gov/whitmer/news...
