Everyone who pays alot of attention to politics right now is losing their mind because it’s really difficult to understand how the majority of people are just like “yep living my life, oh a program to hire more women? Idk sounds good to me, I voted Trump to lower inflation hopefully he’s doing that”
Favorability of DEI Programs:

This is the policy of people who fervently believe in eugenics. They are going to sell this as a thing that impacts Black and Brown people. But it's really designed to get rid of the poor white people (disabled, elderly, substance abuse issues etc.) that rich white people loathe.
BREAKING: House Republicans have released their budget resolution. They are aiming to cut Medicaid by at least $880 billion, and cut SNAP by at least 20%.

One of the defining features of our current moment of lumpenfascism is a preoccupation with symbols of strength, power, or prestige, while being totally uninterested, or even actively opposed to learning about, the actual reasons why those symbols came to be in the first place. Cargo cult ideology.

While this comparison is actually too *generous* to Facebook (see my reply for why), even as presented here is appalling how clearly our legal system applies a double standard to corporations and billionaires vs. progressive activists fighting for justice.
Meta illegaly downloaded 80+ terabytes of books from LibGen, Anna's Archive, and Z-library to train their AI models.

In 2010, Aaron Swartz downloaded only 70 GBs of articles from JSTOR (0.0875% of Meta). Faced $1 million in fine and 35 years in jail. Took his own life in 2013.

It’s an Obama-era interview with a man who died in 2020 that remains extremely current, in many parts, today. www.metroweekly.com/2011/11/an-a...

The threat of ICE has tons of people on high alert, the result is claims of ICE seen without firm or specific info people can actually use — & sometimes, no ICE at all.

It’s never “ICE spotted in Queens,” but “4 SUVs labeled DHS seen parked on 57th & 59th in Maspeth at 2:34pm.”

Be specific!

Every single thing described here — criticism of politicians, boycotts, protests, requests for updated language — is a normal tactic for social change.

These accusations could have been levied (and were!) against suffragettes, the Civil Rights movement, gay marriage campaigners, you name it.
