Looks like i got a bunch of followers from the indie dev community. Welcome!
I have a bachelor's degree in game programming, but i haven't made the jump to making games on a professional level... yet.
In the meantime, i do a bunch of livestreams in german, and work in IT security.

I've played around with some persistent AI environments and its meaningless wobbly shite.

Oh, I can finally do this thing with my latest painting!
I'm still quite slow and clumsy with my Blender blockouts (but I'm getting better!), but even that janky scene on the left made the concept real and gave me what I needed to make it good.

RJ is absolutely right here, I would add that concept artists more often than not serve as the filter for reference going into the project. We build reference libraries and understandings of an exceptionally diverse range of information and how that relates to the project.
The thing thats so insidious about using AI this way is that one of the main ways artists get hired are studios looking for art references and they find us and reach out.
This is removing a major avenue to get work if they can just generate nameless derivations of our ideas.
