One of my greatest worries about climate was “countries will not trust each other enough to do this” but that’s actually become somewhat moot as renewables have become way preferable for many growing countries precisely /because/ they do not trust temperamental petrostates.

My little girl has been thru it lately. She's 18 and has had a UTI in the past week, and the antibiotics made her a little sick. She's getting an echocardiogram this morning, as well as a blood test and urinalysis, to see if she's well enough for a teeth cleaning. Please keep her in ur thoughts 😔.

As I always do with boycotts, I urge: be tough with corporations, gentle with individual buyers. For some people, Black Friday sales are the way they get their kids jackets that fit, shoes that hold up to the weather. Yelling at them doesn’t help the cause.

Can confirm. No other job demands absolute perfection and consistency in under 5 minutes, hundreds of times a day, quite like being a Barista. People get WAY more snooty about their coffee than their burgers.
it's not that i ever doubted that being a barista was a skilled position, but my year-long effort to try to produce a half-decent latte at home has convinced me that a good barista is easily more skilled than virtually every c-suite executive on the planet
