Was in the gifted program elementary school through high school and my mom had to advocate for my inclusion every time we moved and I had to change schools.

The conversation between Klein and Coates showed me that a lot of people who screech about “infighting” on the left aren’t aware of the fact that marginalized people have been forced to learn how to regulate their emotions during conflict, and so, are better able to hear what’s actually being said.

There is truth to the idea that media outlets are drawn to negative, sensational news. Everyone writes about Florida eliminating vaccine mandates. Yet we have a letter signed by over 1,000 Florida physicians opposing this decision, and no outlet would published it. They don't even respond at all.

I feel like part of the problem is that in the modern era, especially in the United States, people think that in order to count, they have to post about their activism or what they're doing.

This is exactly what's going on. I am watching people I really respect personally and professionally not even try to fight this dude. He's weak. His people are weak. They're completely relying on you being uncomfortable with confrontation.
The thing that makes that so much worse is that when you do push back he backs down. These people are not afraid they are just capitulating because it’s easier.
