The headline, the main takeaway from a European viewpoint is this:

The economic decline claim is also complete hogwash. Yes EU share of global gdp is smaller now than in 1990, but that’s a result of China and India catching up, not of supposed European decline. Living standards across the EU are significantly higher than in 1990, especially in Eastern Europe.
