On this topic, a recent Freakonomics interview with Canadian author Dan Wang on why China is building these massive projects while the US stalls was fascinating—and also insightful as to the pitfalls of both approaches.

Q: Do you agree that the mayor of Chicago and governor of Illinois should be in prison?

MIKE JOHNSON: Should they be in prison? I'm not the attorney general. I'm not following the day to day on that

As a middle-aged person learning to speak fully and clearly with increasing confidence, it’s a joy to see and hear another middle-aged person think quickly and then use complete, well-formed sensible paragraphs.

Huge contrasts to his predecessor’s nervousness, and his opponent’s immaturity.

We’re just about signed, but the sticking point is over Boosh’s contract signing celebration with 10 shootout attempts by the Oilers’ best players.

My client obviously wants to stay unbeaten by NHL snipers, and not give up any, even to McD, Drai or Nuge.

One never breaks such mental domination.

The reviews are coming in on the UCP's American lesson plans they're offering parents while teachers are on strike...

From this Grade 1 teacher, not only do they not align with the UCP's curriculum...

They aren't even based in what most Grade 1 kids can do.

As you know, truth in reporting means you must tell us how you voted. 😀

OK, maybe not. Thank you and Darren for your excellent coverage in yet another civic election.

Renewing Knoblauch and getting McDavid to sign at a discount is part of my master plan to allow the Oilers to afford my shutdown goaltender client @booshmeister.bsky.social for 3 plus an option, at the AAV we deserve.

And people question whether I am really an agent.

Not so random posting of a poem I love.

Today the message can be flipped from Albertans back to the teachers.

To the teachers of AB:
“We need you
and your stories
and questions
that like a fresh path
will take us to new vistas.”

Last week Alberta quislings were in Washington to further the break up of our nation. Meanwhile Danielle Smith is setting up a fight over a pipeline that no-one is trying to build.
It is about stoking the base and driving rage against Canada.
My latest.

#UCP / Smith are using teacher strike for adequate public school funding to siphon even more taxpayer resources into private schools / homeschooling.

Despicable. Yeah, they are as slippery as all MAGAs.

Be informed, parents! Don’t fall for it!

I’ve seen a lot of rallies at the Alberta Legislature, but today’s Teachers’ rally had to be the biggest one.

#ForeverCanadian volunteers were there, collecting signatures.

Teachers, thank you for your support!!!

I’ve covered dozens of protests at the provinces’s southern office at the McDougall Centre, but today’s teacher rally was by far the largest by a measure. Truly massive turnout for teachers to express their anger at the government.
