Apparently the idiotic shutdown of El Paso’s airspace was caused by the idiocy of the idiots in charge of the idiocracy.

#FoxNews reports that the Border Patrol had control of the laser technology when it shot a balloon in civilian airspace. Pete Hegseth signed a document turning over the DOD's laser technology to the CBP.

That's why the #FAA shut down the airspace.

We’ve all had days where we’ve woken up, forgotten to brush our teeth, and closed all El Paso airspace for an hour instead.

At the urging of my office, the FAA is rightfully lifting the Temporary Restricted Airspace.

I will again reiterate there is no threat to El Paso or the surrounding areas.

What the heck is this? Shutting down the only major airport within hundreds of miles for 10 days? That’s a disaster for the local economy.
Since a couple people have asked, I have no idea why El Paso airspace was closed. Working my contacts, a couple theories but nothing to say out loud yet.

If you have insight please contact me on signal at gbrockell.44.

Bizarre. Unexplained flight restrictions around El Paso, but also in a trapezoid abutting the border to the west.
