After LttP it feels like we stopped seeing illustrations like these, where the mystery and danger of the world was the focus. The artwork became much more character-driven. Seems to line up with the series' shift in design and perhaps general trends. (Unsurprisingly, I like the original games best!)
Such great cave exploration pieces in this one. The mood in them is awesome. I love how detailed the art is in the 2nd one.

it's a little funny that for all the work xbox has done to diversify its portfolio from the latter half of the 360 era (after mattrick and co had largely killed first party dev and second party publishing) that 2026's xbox lineup looks likely to be driven by halo, gears, and fable.
