Here's a couple faves you might enjoy!
In The Loop - hilarious political satire with the most creative cursing you'll ever see
Hedda - my fave film from 2025, an adaptation of Hedda Gabler with an electric lead performance from Tessa Thompson
Booksmart - top tier coming of age film feat. great music

years ago, I saw Cate Blanchett playing Hedda Gabler

I had seen her on stage before, loads of stuff in Sydney before LoTR ...

But on this occasion afterwards, I saw her come out to the balcony at the Wharf and as I walked past, gave her a *thumbs up*

Anyway I'm still absolutely mortified

This is actually why drama school won't take you until you're 20 something.
Tbf I'm not sure my 2 years in town planning admin broadened my insight to Hedda Gabler.
We need to have more actors who have had normal jobs before they started acting

Soho restaurant, 1990s: American theatre impresario came up & said "Just saw you in that Clint Eastwood movie on the plane on the way over" & refused to believe I wasn't Judy Davis. Sometimes think I should have gone along with it, might have ended up playing Hedda Gabler on the West End stage.

Watching National Theatre At Home “Hedda Gabler” 2nd time in 2 days. So excellent. Such a great play. 1890s but so contemporary. Highly recommended.

MOVIES: Ibsen’s Hedda Gabler gets a queer noir makeover in Hedda. Directed by Nia DaCosta and led by Tessa Thompson, the film turns a lavish party into a stylish spiral of power, desire, and destruction.

Do you have Mike Barrier’s “The Animated Man”? Far superior to the Gabler book.

We only have four days left to unlock $8,400 in matching funds. Tone Madison could unlock a total of $21,000 for journalism that's "full of heart and unafraid to punch up." But we need your help to do it.

the rumor that Billie Holiday babysat a young Billy Crystal. Short answer: Milt Gabler was Crystal's uncle, and Holiday took young Crystal to see his first movie, Shane.

You may read the complete explanation in the article by Tony Alpsen of Vice in the link below.

I love this book. No, I don’t understand everything but mostly it’s moving, funny, sad, thought provoking, inspiring. I’m rereading with renewed pleasure.

So grateful for this Christmas present:

not the ubiquitous 1922 text of Ulysses but the 1984 Gabler edition that corrects over 5000 errors, most minuscule but many that badly needed sorting to make sense.

It took my son a lot of research to get hold of.

This film should be getting more credit for its costume design.

I filled this out last week, and a few days ago when I ranked the new era winners on Reddit I’d already forgotten my answers for this survey, besides a few. 9th for me is Gabler, and 1-3 are Kyle, Rachel, Dee, in that order. #Survivor
soooo we're ranking every #survivor new era winner from 1-9 and we need YOUR help

The pain of 2025 and a bit of hope for the future.

Season 43: Cassidy Clark & James Jones

Cass has the great storyline of “I really thought I was going to win…”

I really enjoy James’ insights when he fills in on Know-It-Alls. Plus he gets the nod as a reward for being the only person on the jury who didn’t vote for Gabler (those idiots).

Nia DaCosta's HEDDA smartly updates and compresses the action of Henrik Ibsen's HEDDA GABLER, gender-swaps a character to excellent effect, and leans in to Hedda as a femme fatale. Featuring two of my favorite performances of the year from Tessa Thompson and Nina Hoss.
