#Fungus and #Mushroom season! I don't have enough knowledge to choose edible ones in the wild, but I appreciate how unique they are. These are probably lactarius and like to grow where my oak tree sheds leaves.

I don't need to recognize Boletus edulis from Boletus reticulatus or Lactarius deliciosus from Lactarius deterrimus to pick them safely if I can tell them apart from other fungi. But it's a good practice to try, to look for the subtle characteristic traits and to learn the variability.

Since this is now mushroom Bluesky - I was PUMPED this summer when I found my first blue milkcap (lactarius Indigo) in the wild. I’d always been too late and they’d all spored out and died by the time I’d found them in the past. They’re amazing (and edible if you know where you’re harvesting from)

Sexy Gill Sunday! Lepiota decorata or Pink Parasol, Lactarius sp. or Milky cap, and a Crepidotus. I can't seem to not find fungi on my w.a.l.k. Strength in numbers.
