#NonPharmaceutical
why is it that so many who supposedly want to prevent infection by systemic means stop at vaccines, when nonpharmaceutical options (filtration/purification, testing, etc) still exist &must be advocated for in tandem? as collapse accelerates, we need you to take responsibility for our shared air too.
when i speak about clean air, masking, & the process of talking with folks about the how n why, i do so from a place of experience: i’ve been helping at mask required events, delivering masks to people’s homes, & other kinds of anti-covid outreach for years now—be the change you wish to see n all 😷✨

.. nonpharmaceutical noncombustible nicotine-delivery products for tobacco-cessation treatment, such as e-cigarettes & oral nicotine pouches, continues to be debated. Regulatory status & use of e-cigarettes, the most well-known of these products varies substantially

See, Biden got to roll out the vaccines and claim that victory.

Of course, the vaccines did not end the crisis immediately. They took a long time and Biden dropping nonpharmaceutical interventions meant a lot of people died on his watch.

Undermining the vaccines meant undermining Biden and Dems.

In this study, COVID-19 posed a significant disease burden for children and young people, so pharmaceutical and nonpharmaceutical interventions continue to be important to limit transmission of the virus and to mitigate severe disease.

This whole thread plus:

Better nutrition and hygiene are what is called "nonpharmaceutical interventions."

Nutrition and hygiene may help give you a survival edge compared to baseline, but if you want to stop the disease entirely: you need vaccines.

Nature *still* bats last.
Have you heard:

“measles mortality was already declining before vaccines because of nutrition and hygiene, therefore vaccines aren’t effective?”

It’s spread by RFK Jr., Children’s Health Defense, Physicians for Informed Consent, & others to undermine vaccines.

A thread:

you’re the one with the problem: ignorance + arrogance. why you’d show your ass like this instead of searching for what “nonpharmaceutical interventions” means, i can’t fathom, but how embarrassing for you

Of course! I’m not arguing that point. But jabs were never enough to humanely get us back to normal on their own.

Another point: The answer for widespread vaccine hesitancy is not “you do you.” It’s maintaining nonpharmaceutical measures and implementing workplace safety rules (clean indoor air)

Immunity Debt for Seasonal Influenza After the COVID‐19 Pandemic and as a Result of Nonpharmaceutical Interventions: An Ecological Analysis and Cohort Study
Immunity Debt for Seasonal Influenza After the COVID‐19 Pandemic and as a Result of Nonpharmaceutical Interventions: An Ecological Analysis and Cohort Study
This study provides support for the immunity debt hypothesis, revealing a 131.72% increase in influenza rates during winter and a 161.23% rise in summer, 1 year following the global easing of COVID-19 restrictions. This study offers empirical evidence of immunity debt on a global level, highlighting the importance of incorporating this concept into the formulation of long-term pandemic response strategies. Abstract Non-pharmaceutical interventions (NPIs) during the COVID-19 pandemic significantly reduced influenza transmission. This study explores the hypothesis of “immunity debt” which suggests increased vulnerability to influenza following reduced exposure during the pandemic. World Health Organization aggregated data on influenza from 116 countries and its association with NPI intensity as measured by the COVID-19 Stringency Index is analyzed. Where individual-level data available (France, the United Kingdom, Spain, Italy, Belgium, and Romania), the analyses of influenza monthly rates in six European countries (France, the United Kingdom, Spain, Italy, Belgium, and Romania) are replicated. The results indicate globally a 46.3% (95%CI: 15.79–70.78%) reduction in influenza cases during COVID-19 restrictions in the winter season, followed by a 131.7% (95%CI: 34.95–255.78%) increase in the first postrelaxation winter and a 161.2% (95%CI: 31.88–382.16%) increase in the summer as compared to the predicted level based on historical influenza epidemic trends. In addition, a positive association between the Stringency Index and post-relaxation influenza surge is observed globally (R 2 = 0.14–0.17) and replicated regionally. The findings support the population immunity debt hypothesis for influenza and call for proactive preparations against its consequences in future pandemics.
