Dude believed he could *probably* open the ribcage and adapt existing flesh and muscle around the lats to create basically this exact thing on someone without too many complications outside of, you know, you'd be a big fucked up bat person and you'd need a lot of special accomodations to get around

The "the world is built for people who are a different size to me" thing that annoys me most are sculpted car seats. My ribcage is about eight inches too wide for them meaning there's quite a bit of space between my spine and the seat back.
I am convinced this is a major safety hazard.
