we've been waterboarded with superheroes for 25 years at cinemas and on tv and t-shirts. and yet the people who are being heroes, the protestors, are being vilified and 70million people are applauding the very people the avengers etc would be fighting.

Rest in peace, Sal Buscema. I pretty much grew up on this legendary artist's epic 10 year run on the Incredible Hulk, being blown away by every patented "Buscema Punch" he drew. We lost one of the greats but were blessed with so much of his art. 💔 #SalBuscema #ComicBooks #ComicBookArtist

It's a frustrating series, because it almost grapples with the irl consequences of superheroes, but since it's for kids and they don't want to make them too sad, they have to side with the superheroes having unchecked power

This is at the OP (not you), but American comics aren't "just superheroes" if you actually pay attention to stuff that isn't just aimed at cis het white malea. There's so many amazing stories being told - and a lot of lousy ones too.
Like, they're so wrong in so many ways.

Star Trek hasn't really done full reboots of the series; they tend to keep the story moving with new crews.

Marvel & DC are a bit different because comic books & superheroes are always spurring new visions of the characters. But that opens up the ability to create new versions for the screen. 2/2

When I ask for fantasy recommendations why do so many people recommend superhero media???? That isn't fantasy and it's so prevalent at this point you don't need to recommend it. I'm aware of superheroes. I know

Hey uhhhhh Becks? Appreciate the thought, but CM Punk is literally posting art of superheroes stomping ice into the pavement and Brody is wearing an Abolish ICE shirt on TV.

We don't need tip-toeing around it.
Either shit or get off the pot.
Becky Lynch is not a fan of ice.

“I don’t like ice. I hate ice, actually. It’s very dangerous. Hurts people"

the problem is it is no longer new and interesting to be a good comic book movie. that happens literally several times a year, every year. I think Superman didn’t suffer from this because Superman is like the classic coke of superheroes. the brand is so much stronger than FF

oh in a nutshell I think the ending of the War Plotline completely undercuts all the good work the movie is otherwise doing. It's still imperialism if superheroes do it instead of a government. Maybe all that's set up for an Authority movie or something but if so it's not worth it bc previous
