There is DEFINITELY something better than crayola that is cheaper than this. But first off i think it is great you are getting your kid an art supply upgrade. As a kid around your kids age I started getting "real" art supplies and they were absolutely earlier towork with BUT

A "get what you need" space to provide for needs that affect absenteeism. Rain gear, warm clothes, toiletries (feminine hygiene/ deodorant, etc.) And help caring for younger siblings which often causes the oldest to miss school when single parents who can't afford day care have towork.

Someplace I heard of, maybe it was UMD-College Park, allowed local students to move stuff into their room earlier in the summer if they wanted. I know some campuses have towork around busy summer camps and the need to repair/repaint, but I think that’s a great approach.

They say they’re taking away Medicaid from ‘healthy’ young people to force them towork, little do they realize those ‘healthy’ young people have 1-3 jobs and no insurance because their bosses won’t cover them. So our wonderful farm lands are dying because they kidnapped all the hard working folks
