but since i’m not a ghoul who only cares about elections, the thing here that made me cry is that it seems to have a genuine “actually not only are trans people not a threat, they’re pretty amazing” vibe that i don’t think i’ve seen in a big campaign before & it isn’t a condescending “wow so brave.”

To me, the most important thing about Nuremberg is that it was a prosecution for acts that weren’t crimes when committed.
The long legal tradition against ex post facto laws is suspended when the depravity is so great it evades any justification. That society can’t properly move on without trials.
