So you have VC's backing startup tech companies, and also backing calorie supplements and nicotine companies, selling their products to those same tech companies to keep their workers alive.

Circular economy indeed. Company towns next?

Why not reward the circular economy, esp in construction, w/ tax breaks? Incl at the fed level:

But

Alistair Jack said no
Now he's a leader in over consumption

Why to go out

Doesn't he feel responsibility ❌❌
Ministers challenged over ‘huge plastic hole’ in circular economy strategy
Friends of the Earth argue the government's strategy must force businesses to pay for cleaning up the plastic they produce.

Now, keep in mind HALF of the S&P 500's gains came from 7 tech stocks, all deeply mired in the circular false economy that all agree is the "AI Bubble".

Oh, and the U.S. dollar dropped nearly 10% in value. So...uh...work that in to your "gains".
Context you rarely hear: global stocks are up about 30% over the past year. U.S. stocks? Around 18%. That means American investors underperformed the world by about 12 percentage points, even while headlines called it a “fantastic year.”

Material use in the EU is still too high — and recent circular economy efforts have not yet bent the trend. While they have delivered some jobs and growth, environmental pressures remain high.

♻️ Doubling the EU’s circular material use rate could reduce:
- Climate impacts by ~51%

AI companies are not 'flush with cash'. They're all involved in a circular finance scam. This means they're saying 'We invested XX billion in Nvidia' Then Nvidia says 'We invested XX billion in Open AI'...they're handing around the same bag of cash. This bubble is propping up the US economy.

We've launched a first set of pilot actions to boost Europe’s circular economy, focusing on plastics.

Circular solutions can cut the sector’s climate-related emissions by 45%, strengthen EU competitiveness, economic security, and unlock the Single Market's potential.

Round and round it goes - where we end up when the merry-go-round stops, nobody knows. Between circular deals in private equity and circular deals in AI, along with corrupt idiots running the country, it's hard to escape the conclusion that our economy is in for a major reckoning

The economy is now addicted to AI capex and circular financing scams.

Some 90% of 2025 GDP growth is all due to AI capex - none of which has any clear path to returns on all that investment.

As long as AI keeps burning cash, Trump will claim the economy is growing.

But it's all an illusion.

Thriftmas complete! Only 1 present contains new items, everything else via the antique or op shop. Working in the circular economy & witnessing the carnage firsthand has drastically reduced my spending on new things excluding actual consumables. (Don’t look at the cushions, they need tidying lol)

Speaking of empties, it's dismaying to read about the hash that's being made of bottle recycling by the Ford government. Glad to read staunch circular economy advocate Valérie Leloup's cautions on where we're heading.
Ottawa Beer Store closures raise new questions about deposits, recycling
More empty alcohol containers are ending up in the blue bin, which isn't as good for recycling them as you might think.

Is Earth overpopulated or not? 🌍
Reality is nuanced: at current rich-country consumption, even 8B may stress the planet.
✅ Safe & just space possible for 8–10B
🥦 Near-vegan diets
⚡ Fossil-free energy
🌾 No new cropland
♻️ Circular economy
At high-consumption, rich future, some say ≤5B is safer. #Earth

I've been thinking a lot lately is that if/when the AI bubble bursts the economy that will collapse is not representative of reality, it is the circular economy of billionaires investing in each other so their valuations go up even though that cash doesn't actually exist so like, let's go already.
