#folkwear
I was making those stacks of clothes and house stuff to offer a bunch of people, and I love making lists and coming up with categories and descriptions (whomst doth not), so I made little notes of everyone's styles to help organize, and here's you:

I've had the *folkwear Afghani Nomad dress pattern for years, but have never made it.

Thinking of making blouse length with scraps.

Gorgeous dress, you look mahvelous! 😍 I love Asian style. You should check out Folkwear, they do all kinds of ethnic patterns. Look them up, they’re really cool. (One of my dreams is to sew Rock and Roll kimonos with lyrics on them…someday someday 🤷🏻‍♀️)

Some nice examples from Krakow's Ethnological Museum 💕 #folkwear it's fun to see how similar they look to hungarian attire while still having different cuts and silhouettes

Be careful of some of these patterns. I’ve heard this company is a hit or miss when it comes to fit. I do think Folkwear has a similar one and their patterns are reliable.

One row of ribbon done, one to go, then just some hand-finishing. I have no idea if or when or where I’ll ever wear the dress. Perhaps I’ll just hang it on the wall and look at it. But at least I’ll finally be able to cross “make Folkwear Afghan dress” off my someday list.

Yeahhh you're right.
I think them ripping off japanese theatre masks is pretty bad too. If a store used my culture's folklore or folkwear/costumes I would be pissed af.

The next section of the #PaulPoiret exhibit was on travel- how he drew inspiration from it, as well as how he travelled to promote his designs. In this 1919 Bretonne day dress, Poiret combines embroidery from traditional folkwear in Breton, France, and the style of Slavic

The Folkwear Afghan dress in these batiks. I had to size the bodice up, but the rest should be pretty straightforward sewing.

Yeah, we have a lot of variety! But as far as the most recognizable and commonly known German 'Tracht'/folkwear goes, both here and around the world, it's definitely Dirndl and Lederhose, so that's what I'm going for 🤭

Hartsfabric.com has patterns from dozens of independent designers. I don't know how many are paper vs PDF; I've bought a dozen or so which were all paper. Worth checking out, I think. They do have Folkwear, which was the only familiar name.

I need a video essay about someone geeking over romanian folkwear /or slavic
When I drew romanian Miku I did some quick brushes with romanian patterns, but they're not the best to be shared but I still hope to get the motivation to search patterns and compile them in a romanian brushpack ;0;
