The Democrat Women’s Caucus delivered a fiery #CupOfJoe full of reality.

If Republicans don’t vote to extend the ACA tax credits, millions of people will see their health insurance premiums skyrocket.

The anti democracy machine is the anti-trans machine. Get that through your skulls.

Hey Muslim Ban 2.0
Trump says he's expanding the travel ban to 30+ countries, & if a country doesn't have a "stable government," it's on the list. I'm willing to bet all 30+ nations are:
1. Black or brown majority
2. Nations USA has intervened to destabilize their Govt

White supremacy continues to thrive in 2025 USA.

Easy: no. Has this company even driven in Chicago?
Waymo wants Illinoisans to hail driverless cabs. But the company will need to overcome legal hurdles — and concerns about its vehicles’ safety — before it can bring self-driving taxis to the Land of Lincoln.
Waymo wants to bring self-driving taxis to Illinois. Does the Land of Lincoln want them?
Republican state Rep. Brad Stephens is among several lawmakers who’ve introduced legislation that could bring those vehicles to Illinois, though none of the bills have advanced.

Day 6 of films that should have been nominated for an Oscar

Daughters of the Dust

Visually stunning film about TOC African American women who hold onto Yoruba traditions while living in a southern state. As a mixed race person, this film speaks to me on a deep level.

I feel guilty even saying this because honestly, I'm incredibly privileged. I'm white, I have a law license, I have a roof over my head and I'm married to the love of my life.

But I'm so tired.

Day 6 of films that should have gotten nominated.

Ok, now Rocketman did get, what I feel, is a throw away award for the new song. But when you compare this to Bohemian Rhapsody, Rocketman is by far the better biopic. Plus the costumes were amazing.
a man in a baseball uniform is holding a bat on a stage with the word rocketman visible
Alt: The Dodger Stadium concert scene from Rocketman with Elton wearing the bedazzled uniform.

For the first time since January 2023, I changed the wallpaper on my phone. For almost 3 years it’s been a picture of myself and my fiancé, Mike. He passed away in June due to cancer. And I have struggled. I still struggle. But I know it’s also time to change and move forward.
