Here's another from this series (I think this was sold in Japan by a gallery owner who took several of my paintings back with her from her visits to Cambridge. #helebores #watercolour

Share your glimmers! My Helebores are in full bloom. They are the only plant that blooms in the freezing cold. Poisonous, so plant them where pets can't get to them. I get mine at Trader Joe's around Christmas and plant them in the shade in the spring. They come back every year.

Helebores, lilies, and black mondo grass *chef kiss*

Dark gardens are the coolest.

🌱 Little stroll around the property to make mental notes and plan. Another week or so, and I can rake back leaves. Things are waking up "round here.

I love helebores. I have about 7 varities, but none have bloomed yet. It's too warm in the NW.
The first hellebore of the winter blooming in my garden today. #Bloomscrolling #Flowers #Garden #GardenPhotography 🌱📸

Some early spring flowers and it is a lovely Sunday morning to do garden work. Clearing dead plants and leaves, hanging my new bird box, and continuing with the fence re-painting....and checking which plants are already flowering. Quite relaxing.

Absolutely I had forgotten about deer. One of our clients has deteriorated in her garden and her helebores are fine. 😊

2) The growing season is long. Head gardeners, come to zone 5B in Canada anytime to find out just how much more time you have!
I'm finding salvias, helebores, jasmines, iris, and verbenas in bloom. But you wouldn't know it from the way many borders in public spaces are planted.

This is what I have always loved about the NW: snowdrops here as well as helebores. Daffies are on their way.
The trees are green (evergreen trees here), daffodils are pushing up, and hellebores are in full bloom. If the plants can continue so can I.
