I may have sampled a few to many landfill and waste water treatment plant wells (particularly leachate) on hot Valley summer days. Those are some ungodly smells.

A huge pump that takes our data, energy & water and converts them into tax-free offshore profit, leaving nothing of value behind.

No it won’t. It’ll advance the goals of the technofeudalists who want to extract tithes from us while offshoring the ill gotten gains to tax havens. A net dis-benefit to UK plc.
We need to see this for what it really is; massive heat pumps converting our data, energy & water to their wealth.

I am grumpy old git, but this practice, which has taken many experts by surprise, angers me greatly.
I was always opposed to privatisations (apart from BT) as it was plain that commercial interests should not control the basic essentials.

Just to be clear: in my old job, I caused a massive shitstorm because I didn't think the *lining* was good enough to stop the leachate from percolating and I told them their proposed design for the leaxha collection system weren't detailed enough.

How did anyone ever come up with a scheme so wrong?
Is it even legal?
Our system is not fit for purpose.
I don't think I even want to teach young people some aspects of how badly we've been let down.
But I can teach them how we can do things better.

About a year now! I made a makeshift compost tumbler out of an old Rubbermaid trash can last year, drilled some small holes in the bottom to let leachate out. Forgot about it for a while and came back to find it consumed by worms! Looked into it online and found Vermiculture, now I'm a proud wormer.

Critics of the expansion, including neighboring Penobscot Nation, argued there was insufficient treatment of landfill leachate — water that collects chemicals after passing through the waste — specifically for PFAS.
