Zie Quentin Skinner's artikelen (Vision of.

Reopening on 1 September in #Siena: Lorenzetti's frescoes

-of the ideal of civic government
-and, to warn, of the reality of dreadful tyranny.

For all citizens to ponder--and act.

Detail below: the citizens take the rope of/ from concord.
They hold it firmly.

This is exactly the point. The Commission played its cards terribly but only because this is what members states pushed it to do, with neither demonstrating vision of a strong and united Europe and the courage to defend it

It's way too easy for EU national leaders to criticise @vonderleyen.ec.europa.eu for capitulating to Trump.

The EU-US deal reflects their lack of EU-wide vision as much as the transformation of the EU Commission into the secretariat of the EU Council #EUCO

Reading Whose Muse? Art Museums and the Public Trust edited by James Cuno from @princetonupress.bsky.social. Broad appeal for any museum enthusiast but also asks important questions about rapidly changing funding models, looting, illegal exports, colonialism, museum as civic center and more.

Not a Prussian affair, so not much in Berlin Museums, but all the more in Schwaben, in Allgäu, in Thuringia.
The finest academic event will be in Bad Frankenhausen:

Extreme right and ultranationalist demonstrators blocked the original bridge that the Budapest Pride march wanted to cross. So the march opted for another, more photogenic bridge. Never before have so many people hit the streets to march against the oppressive, fascist Orbán regime.
