/3 It‘s entirely possible it’s a mix of (1) everything being a constant fire drill because there is so much litigation because they are so lawless and (2) they likely don’t like or trust the long-term civil service staff like legal secretaries and paralegals.

We already tested this extensively during Covid and BLM and found that police refused to enforce masking requirements or business closures for ideological reasons and brutalized protesters despite orders not to. What's left to test? bsky.app/profile/book...

Machado is a good choice. She'll be controversial because she's in the fight, not above it. That makes this prize continuous with the 2021-3 streak of honoring opposition figures and dissidents rather than do-gooder organizations or already-powerful officials.

I don’t entirely disagree. The Yankees have a better roster. They scored more and gave up less all year. They have four really good starters and a deep, frankly terrifying lineup. But the Jays outplayed them over four games. That’s all that matters.
