Never a dull moment down the road.

I was going to comment a play on turtles all the way down but it seems a little much.

Thank you Shannon!

Important read by Jocelyn Thorpe and @adeleperry.bsky.social on the connections between water, infrastructure, and colonialism in Manitoba.

And all tied up with networks of patronage, kinship and wealth, though now on this side of the Atlantic.

The HBC, ending as it began: putting profit before this land and its people. What a history lesson for all of us.

Massive shoutout out to whoever handles the Royal Canadian Air Force’s social media account. They responded to every single comment on their already very solid Trans Day of Remembrance post and they responded like this…

It’s a sweet little video. She said nice things about the intimacy of the venue. It was a short concert, but a 15 piece band, and she did To Zion and then had Zion come out for a couple of songs, and an all round impeccable vibe!

40 minutes late. But every ticket I bought for a Neil Young concert was cancelled, so that’s a thing:)

Saw Ms Lauryn Hill’s electric show in Winnipeg last night, & all the nattering about her being late etc reminds me that nobody cuts women any slack. Hill is a brilliant musician, songwriter & bandleader, she raised six kids who seem to love her, I don’t think she has needs to be prompt.

I'm trying to figure out the connections/disconnections between the involuntary treatment/hold legislation in BC (www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...) and Manitoba (www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...). Is it that MB's takes it out of the framework of health/mental health care?

Masculinity is NOT in crisis. Masculinity is THE crisis.

Sometimes I have dreams of Neechi Commons.

All speculation, all the time!

Just thinking about next steps! And what can happen if a party elects a leader without a seat.

No looking at Van East or Winnipeg Centre for a seat, ahem.

If whoever is elected NDP leader squeezes out one of the talented, principled & hardworking Indigenous and racialized women MPs who are holding the party down I WILL BE AGGRIEVED.

The purpose of austerity budgets is always to transfer public wealth into private hands. And in a country like Canada that always means a transfer to the same handful of domestic oligarchs and resource extraction multinationals.

With the Major Projects Office wiping out environmental protections, with a spending freeze, correct me if I'm wrong, but this is what kicked off Idle-No-More, no? This isn't Trudeau light, it's Harper plus.

Look at this, every year infrastructure spending for non-Native communities goes up, and at the same time spending for First Nations infrastructure goes down.
