Researchers studied 99 COVID-19 patients and found that SARS-CoV-2’s nucleocapsid protein can trigger complement activation even without matching antibodies.

This suggests the N protein may play a larger role than spike in severe immune overreactions.

Attendance policies in schools must urgently change. I believe it’s a safeguarding issue. Clean air isn’t enough. Children need layered mitigations like vaccine protection & rest to lower risk. Girls and lower income families are disproportionately impacted. Headteachers need to call for action.
