If you'd like to support this effort you can visit buymeacoffee.com/cyclesixmile

You can let me know how you'd like the money to be used, either to buy bike locks or bike lights for students, or to buy food, warming supplies, hygiene supplies, or bus passes for people who I see on my rides.

Detroit Public Library when? Over 25% of Detroit adults do not have access to a car! E-cargo and e-bikes are perfect for a city like Detroit (as the infrastructure slowly improves)
modacitylife.com
The e-cargo bike in question is from North Vancouver’s pilot lending program, which makes a variety of electric bicycles available for residents to borrow at for free from a branch of their local library. We were honoured to learn it was inspired by a chapter of our book ‘Building the Cycling City’!

The Detroit News just published our coalition's op-ed on the need to boost DDOT wages and improve service.

Call Mayor Duggan and urge him to act: 313-224-3400.
Opinion: It’s time to pay workers and double DDOT
It’s hard to find anyone who denies the need for better public transit service in Detroit.

I looked up what part of Cardoni this is, out of curiosity.

Right by the highway. Not surprising—people from the suburbs loooove to illegally dump on blocks in the city right off the freeway.

Yes, separate operations now.

It's a hardworking bike, that's for sure. With proper maintenance it can handle a surprising amount of use and abuse.

I'm going to replace my pedals with some better ones with sealed bearings. Mine are squeaking too

My bike morning: a brunch stop for vegan chik'n and waffles, riding another mile and dropping off my bike to get a hub dynamo and lights installed, then crossing the street to get a MoGo bike for a leisurely ride (is there any other kind on a bikeshare bike?😆) home.
A brown city bike with a small teal rear bag. The bike is locked to a circular rack the same color as the bag. Vegan chik'n and waffle sandwiches with garlicky kale and a small cup of maple syrup. An orange MoGo bikeshare bike with a seat cover. The front rack holds a small teal bike bag.

Yes! I think he'll be carrying more cargo and family bikes in stock soon.

Ted does great work and is an excellent person, btw. Everything from custom fabrication, high end components, certified e-bike repair, all the way down to selling low cost fixed up used bikes.

Heading up to Ted's Bike Shop (formerly Metropolis Cycles Ferndale) for some new brakes, new saddle, and pre-winter tune-up. After winter I'll need new grips, new pedals, new tires, etc.

And guess what? It won't even come close to the cost of even a minor car repair.

One thing the anti-bike lane crowd HATES is that the bike path is ROMANTIC. That’s where you’re going to meet your future lover. They want to take that from you!

What other license lasts for ten years (or more) without any continuing education requirements? I have a teaching license and have to do 150 hours of professional learning every five years to renew it or lose it.

Ten years is too long.

What if you had to take your drivers test at least every 10 years?

A lot changes over time. Including knowledge/memory of the road rules, driver skills and ability, and the size and deadliness of vehicles.

Just texted these photos to the Detroit Public Schools Public Safety Chief. People need to stop giving me their number if they don't want to hear about people parking in bike lanes and breaking traffic laws around schools.
