Use of "the primitive Church" or "the Early Church" or "the Undivided Church of the First Millennium" as some discrete entity, extrinsic to us, that can be referred to as an "authority" to help spatiotemporally removed subjects adjudicate something, belies an already terminally faulty ecclesiology.

To be fair, Obama wasn't entirely wrong to say "It isn't class warfare, it's math", though being that he is a conservative rather than a socialist he missed that it *is* class warfare, just in capitalist society we pretend that class warfare is initiated by envious proles

(Incidentally from the perspective of traditional Catholic moral theology single payer healthcare would solve any moral qualms about paying for procedures or drugs found unconscionable since paying taxes is "remote material cooperation"—unclear to me why paying for health insurance isn't also that)

The widespread media decision to frame international affairs as "will Donnie get the prize he wants?" is pathetic.

He's not the protagonist of human events. And to the extent he's a significant character in world affairs, whether or not he gets a prize is one of the least important things about it.

I know it's uncouth to blame students for having been stultified by a system of schooling meant to effect such a result, but it's still deeply upsetting reading papers by students who have an astoundingly weaker grasp on English prose and syntax as young adults than I had as a middle schooler.
