I know it's uncouth to blame students for having been stultified by a system of schooling meant to effect such a result, but it's still deeply upsetting reading papers by students who have an astoundingly weaker grasp on English prose and syntax as young adults than I had as a middle schooler.

"Faith without works is dead" really is the vibe and while this is just one example I found it a particularly striking rebuke of the idea that you can be Spiritually supportive of the poor or whatever while doing fuck-all
