Gaviota Pass

#photography #blackandwhite #california
A photographic scene of mountains with a rock outcropping in the foreground, a mountain divide in the middle ground that is a pass from the Pacific coast into the Santa Ynez Mountains. The sky is scattered clouds.

Pacific Division's a little pugnacious tonight. Good hockey.

Threw me for a loop at first, I'm like there's no way Hood had that on it, then...I got it.

Ain't no other 3 quite like it.

I love how they used New Dawn Fades during the scene where Hanna's racing down the 105 to catch up with McCauley.

The way it was scored flows so well. Ultramarine is one that gets stuck on my mental jukebox often.

I might have to watch it tonight—for the several dozenth time.

Legit banger.

Especially the Los Lobos version.

I respect the lazy.

Our on the ground offerings for anything more than Wally World (Target is nearly down there too) are pititful. It's a 35 minute drive, one way, to proper in-person shopping.

Though the new bougie grocery store is open...and a lot closer...

That's on my list and those were what I was thinking for bulk storage!

Did you get them individually, or is there a set to buy somewhere?

It's when you figure out you can put your chin on Mom's head that you have a good day.

When you realize you can go full bear hug, it's a great day.

A teen (13?) with a junior rugby player's build is getting a BIG hug from Mum.
He might be already a head taller than Mum, but none of that matters when a hug's on offer.

Scams is like one of those low-key indie groups that gets great critical review, but you have to hear her to know.

She's been good since her Buffalo debut, and is pretty much the only NWHL/PHFer to stick with the NT.

Sad to see her leave Ottawa, but as long as she's not playing them, bonne chance!

As George Carlin taught us many years ago, the rich “owners“ of this country do not want a population capable of creativity and critical thinking. They want obedient workers. Obedient workers. Just smart enough to do the paperwork and keep the machines running for them.
jspumpkins.bsky.social
This is the tell that they don't want people with creative capacity. They want menials and drones that they can use extract wealth from their lives and labors, then discard before the next quarterly report.

The actual cruel burden is the point.
faineg.bsky.social
it’s said all the time but I think we should continue to hammer home how insane it is that we got dead-eyed bros trying to sell us robots that will free us from the supposedly cruel burden of “creative careers” instead of the actual cruel burden of “doing menial household chores”

She's in for a rebound year, especially going into the last season of the current quad. She's been a mainstay with the national team since 2019, and if Montreal gives her the ice time, she'll deliver.

I wrote about why I believe Hayley Scamurra is poised to be a 2025-26 breakout candidate in my latest for The Hockey News.

I’d love to hear your thoughts! Who would be your pick?
