Some folks who preordered are starting to receive their copies of Read This When Things Fall Apart! ❤️

The book is supposed to be published on November 4, but I am so happy some folks are getting it early. It's needed now.

I’m sure this has already been covered ad nauseaum, but I think the best thing about stuff like this is that it not only takes away the MAGA narrative that these protests are violent, but it also mocks the administration too—they’re so unserious that people wear inflatable costumes to protest them.

For those not fluent in Catholic: refusing the Monstrance is not denying prisoners the Eucharist, it is refusing Christ himself, since Christ is present in the Monstrance.

Chicago priest Fr. Larry Dowling describes procession to ICE facility: “No one had the courage to speak directly to us. No one from Homeland Security could stand in the presence of the Monstrance holding the Blessed Sacrament. No wonder. Evil is repelled, recoils in the presence of Christ.”

few understand how to really appreciate the montreal bagel, if you meet it bagged the next day that's a very incomplete experience, ideally it hits your mouth before ever cooling

it's not quite crisp enough but the window of still biking but cool can close rapidly have to take opportunities when they arise

it's that time of year again (a cool night and hot fresh montreal bagels immediately enjoyed)

Not the first time a tyrant has been plagued by frogs.

Blessed are the frogs, for they keep making authoritarians look incredibly stupid
Three persons in inflatable frog costumes. One of them is holding a nicely painted sign with two little cartoon frogs holding hands, below the text "FROGS TOGETHER STRONG"

For over a year now I’ve worked so hard and tried everything I could to avoid this. But I couldn’t save enough, so here we are.

I made a Gofundme. Depending on the outcome I will either hire an expensive immigration lawyer and give it one more try, or pack up and use the money to start over.

I'm just one person, and my programming needs are somewhat unusual (building various kinds of statistical forecasting models). But I'm just not seeing the consistent productivity gains from LLMs that I would have expected if you'd asked me 6 months ago.

There are so many Diane Keaton performances to remember, but a lot of people haven't seen Reds, and A) my God, see it, it is a masterpiece and B) her performance as Louise Bryant is one of the bravest, toughest, least sympathy-courting pieces of work by an American actress in the last 50 years.

next thing you’ll tell me is that the same society that sneers at public displays of charity towards the most weak and vulnerable will elect, in turn, a government that is entirely predicated on terrorizing its own domestic population of ethnic minorities, laborers, and the poor writ large
