Soon I’ll get to see my prof’s actual comments on my Jacob Cycle paper. I doubt I’ll write about the patriarchal narratives again any time soon, but it was fun doing folkloristics again! I got to use the word “mytheme,” so I’m happy.
A woman recording an ICE agent tells him "Shame on you."

The agent responds, "Have you all not learned from the past couple of days?"

"Learned what?" she asks

Then he knocks her phone out of her hand

The protection of this art is essential, and the Indigenous communities who feel a strong connection to the art are likely the best possible custodians.

One problem with this decision is that it risks breaking the very principle for which the board say it was taken.

The decision to silence a Palestinian Australian author goes well beyond the standards of the Racial Discrimination Act and ordinary standards of free speech.

And there is Uncle Edward. I doubt he approves of RFK's direct attack on Children

Absolutely.
I’d be ok with banning a writer for arguing for racism and violating human rights. But the opposite is happening here.

This is good news. It is against the spirit of a Writers' Festival to boycott anyone once invited. How did Dr Abdel-Fattah contribute to the actions of the two men of Indian origin in Bondi?

*don't do something

It is only unstoppable if we do something to stop the felonies. Problem is that we are constitutionally not disposed to commit felonies to stop felonies. Bullies win in the short term.

Listen to what she says. She is one of the clearest thinkers in US politics, and should become President as soon as possible.

I agree. I have been advocating as much. We should implement full Boycott, Divest and Sanction on US and Israel. That would include Pine Gap and include refusing to provide parts for warplanes. We should announce out intention to get out of AUKUS, however much it costs.
AOC: ICE has less accountability than virtually any law enforcement agency in the U.S., yet they are some of the most well-funded, operating with impunity—and we just saw them murder an American citizen in cold blood in the street.

Many of your politicians do not and nor do many in the media. I just think that the US needs reminding from time to time that the actions of the US as a rogue state have consequences. Just ask the Palestinians.

Dangerous to much more than the US population. The rest of the world really matters but we do not have any say.

I think the world should be demanding that the US release the Epstein Files and prosecute the paedophiles immediately. We cannot afford any more distractions such as the invasion of Venezuela or threats to Greenland. It is too terrifying for the rest of the world.
