We can run our own moderation yet Link is banned, Erin Biba is banned, Palestinian accounts are banned, Trans people accounts are banned.

Who's running the moderation again?

(Am I going to get banned for this? Probably.)
jay.bsky.team
We’re system architects at core. We built a decentralized network so you could run your own moderation, but beyond that our upcoming healthy discourse project is taking some swings at the interaction model that drives these dynamics on Bluesky. Excited to start seeing it in action.

Hello, I’m from Gaza.
We’re living through hell
homes destroyed, memories erased, loved ones gone. Even the innocence of our children has been shattered.
Every bit of help—even a small donation—could save a life or rekindle a flicker of hope.

The refusal to acknowledge white supremacy and eugenics as drivers are why white politicians, pundits, high-level career civil servants, and academics have been repeatedly blindsided by Trump's actions, consistently fail to predict what's next, and unable to grasp the weight of the moment.

We're headed for a Depression at least equal to the Great Depression of the late 1920s/1930s, if not worse.

Please prepare yourselves as much as you can.

“Concerns over an AI bubble bursting have grown lately, with analysts recently finding that it’s 17 times the size of the dotcom-era bubble and four times bigger than the 2008 financial crisis.”

Hang onto your butts. This “correction” is gonna hurt.

DHS said earlier she was arrested for assault for throwing objects at agents.

When the Native Americans on what was then the island of Haiti did not collect silver from the beach as he demanded, he lined some of them up and cut off their hands.

Columbus was the first Conquistador.

Let's be clear on who Christopher Columbus was, a conquerer who spread disease & slavery who was so sadistic in the ways he treated natives he appalled the architects of the Spanish Inquisition. That's the fact of him there is to reclaim.

UNTIL IT’S DONE, Ep. 4: Sylvia Rivera

In the 1970s, queer New Yorkers had been pushed to the margins of NYC. Our trans neighbors faced immense cruelty. But in Sylvia Rivera, they found a champion.

As we combat Trump’s politics of darkness, her legacy can light the path forward.

ICE left David, a 17-year-old boy, stranded on the side of Interstate 20 after pulling over his immigrant father, Hector, in Mississippi.

David began running in the scorching sun after the car and watched as it disappeared from sight—soon headed to a Louisiana ICE prison.

Here's their story.

Also?

Robert is very close friends with Ted Nugent, a darling of all of these people. Nugent convinced a child's family to sign her over to him so he could be her legal guardian until he could legally marry her.

These men are all unconscionably despicable and have been since they came of age.

Kid Rock pals w/Trump, who was pedophile (kids) Epstein's BFF and in files. He also did a song with R. Kelly, a sex trafficking pedo (kids) who married a kid when he was nearly 30, lived in Trump Tower Chi when arrested in 2019, and neighbors (wealthy) "knew."

Change your friends, change your name!

If it wasn't for trump and his inner circle Kid Rock would be a shoe in for biggest douche in America. This chucklefuck is sitting there dressed as a cowboy and he's talking shit on people's hair and the way men dress. This guy mustn't have mirrors

I get that we all get had here and there. It happens to even the most careful people. That said, when it comes to AI generated slop - please don't make it, share it, or amplify it. Not only are you helping to poison the water supply of whole communities, but you're helping to destroy our brains.

"even if it's AI, it's at least true" hard to overstate the damage this stuff is doing to people's brains. we're gonna be cleaning the slop out of archives for decades

One last note: about every six months I remember the Finnish dish cabinet exists and I get irrationally angry this isn't a mainstay of US culture and I'm not sure how or why, but I blame the patriarchy. They are cabinets above the kitchen sink that drain directly into the kitchen sink.

Addendum: they see labor when it costs them money or time. Hence the obsession with self-driving cars and automating fast food restaurants. It's also why they want us all to eat the slop that is Wonder restaurants. Of course Wonder only "works" in cities the very places with better options.

So yes, I think these men have no use for other humans - they wouldn't be so obsessed with robots if they did - and they want to eliminate creative work. But the other half of "why can't they make labor easier" is they don't do a lot of that labor. They invented the roomba and called it a day.

In theory the kitchen should be the easiest space on the planet to clean and it's not because it's designed by men who don't use kitchens. That's it.

Don't get me started on how if I'm not careful my fish slips into a corner of my freezer that requires me to remove the freezer basket to reach

And I like to focus on kitchen stuff because it makes no sense that I have to watch a youtub video to learn how to take apart my dishwasher to clean it and that entire chunks of it havenot been designed to be clean.

I mean we can talk about the way these tech billionaires have scrambled eggs for brains, but I'm going to talk about something else: kitchenware.

I like to play this game called "how hard is it to clean" and so much kitchen shit is hard to clean.

I think that's part of it but the other part is it's men -and in this case especially rich men - and they already don't do those tasks, so they don't see them. This is why we're getting Samsung TV's with ads and not fridges that remind us to eat the lettuce before it spoils
jspumpkins.bsky.social
This is the tell that they don't want people with creative capacity. They want menials and drones that they can use extract wealth from their lives and labors, then discard before the next quarterly report.

The actual cruel burden is the point.
faineg.bsky.social
it’s said all the time but I think we should continue to hammer home how insane it is that we got dead-eyed bros trying to sell us robots that will free us from the supposedly cruel burden of “creative careers” instead of the actual cruel burden of “doing menial household chores”

Seeing Ms. Rachel say exactly what needs to be said to Obama is so damn refreshing
Dear President Obama,
I saw in your statement you said "Israeli families" & "the people of Gaza."
Palestinians have families, too.
This kind of language contributes to dehumanization. Dehumanization is part of what caused so many to stay silent as 20,000 children were killed in this genocide.
I've sat with wonderful Palestinian families from Gaza. They look at their children just like we look at ours - with all the love & hope in the world.
Love,
Ms Rachel
