Now that the local and national press have started to cover the Portland ICE area round-the-clock in reaction to the President, Antifa have devised a plan where they are encouraging one another to come in animal costumes.

The costumes serve the function of masking the violent extremism to make the direct action appear like a family-friendly gathering on camera, and to whitewash the past ultraviolence.

In 2019, Antifa devised a similar plot by giving out free "milkshakes" at a protest. But they couldn't contain their bloodthirst and nearly killed me when they saw me. In 2020, they mobilized a fake "Wall of Moms" where female Antifa supporters and members wore yellow shirts to act as human body shields while violent rioters behind them hurled projectile weapons.

They are trying to goad protestors into lighting a Reichstag fire and those efforts are being met with suggestive hip thrusts from a giant inflatable frog.

This is movement not taking the bait.

As a ton of people have already said, they also deescalate the situation with silliness and highlight the absurdity of the situation rather than the scariness.

It emphasizes their impotence and incompetence and dishonesty rather than complementing the spectacle the regime is trying to create.

They also obstruct the view of the shock troops, making it much harder for them to aim into the crowd or take body cam footage of folks.

AND by drawing the camera they allow for news-ready protest images that don't reveal identity without looking scary like those ICE gaiter masks.

The costumes are so oversized that they literally block the shock troops from the camera.

To the extent that you see them, they stop looking agentive and start looking captive, passive, and lost.

As a protest optics nerd love about the inflatables is how much they visually disrupt and pull focus from the fascist shock imagery Noem & Miller are trying to create.

So many of these photos now look like the world's silliest dance party, backgrounded by a bunch of guys in uniform looking awkward

Completely absent from both the Nobel citation and the full article of speculation and commentary is any mention of what people in replies and QTs are telling me is obviously the right answer, which is that he won it for being the first Black president of a racist country.

This was not why he won the Nobel Peace Prize and I do not understand why white people do not get it. He won it for getting elected to the presidency as a Black man in the US. They gave MLK the prize for his civil rights activism and basically treated Obama’s election as civil rights activism.

Wow. Greg Bovino admits on camera that his agents can detain people if you look scared, change your demeanor, or grip a steering wheel too tight.

As his unmasked agents walk around with large guns to scare you, they may arrest you just for that — even if you're a U.S. citizen.

of elevating CBS News to its rightful place as No. 1: the
most trusted and most consumed news source in the
nation. So, I'm interested in any particular ideas you have
to achieve this goal.

By the end of the day Tuesday, I'd like a memo from each
person across our news organization. I'm not looking for a
JD or words like synergy. lI want to understand how you
spend your working hours-and, ideally, what you've made
(or are making) that you're most proud of. l'm also
interested in hearing your views on what's working; what's
broken or substandard; and how we can be better. Please
be blunt-it will help me greatly.

I'll read all of them carefully. And they will be held in the
strictest of confidence.

Then I'll use your memo as a discussion guide for when 1
meet with most of you (ideally, all of you if time permits) in
