In Sweden, for example, there are discussions about revoking citizenship. Hence, the legal-constitutional question is key.

The radical right’s master frame remains ethnic nationalism. Remigration is simply one of its logical consequences. First came stopping (or minimizing) immigration; next is pushing people with migrant backgrounds to leave. Expect further radicalization.
'Remigration' is on its way to become a #farright master frame, but what does it actually mean? In Germany (somewhat unsurprisingly), that's 𝘢𝘭𝘴𝘰 a legal-constitutional question, with implications for the #AfD. Excellent reporting by Correctiv - in German, but worth a click on 'translate'

We are happy to announce the call for papers for the third WhoGov Mini-Conference on Political Elites!

It will be held on August 20-21st, 2026 in Oslo. We welcome research on political elites broadly understood and not just papers using WhoGov.

I wanted to see how many friends the President of Peace has made during his first and second term, so I made a map of countries he has threatened both economically and militarily, banned citizens from, and bombed.

Some things are up for discussion, so a bit on methodology below.

To take radical or extreme statements by the far right literally is usually a better strategy, because it allows us to develop countermeasures more quickly and effectively.

Far-right leaders surprisingly often mean what they say. The rest of us, instead of believing them, surprisingly often look for “what they really mean” or call it theater. But it’s usually wiser to take them at their word. If Trump says he wants Greenland, he’ll probably try to get Greenland.

4/So what is going on? @segoddard.bsky.social and I argue the confusion is people using old models of global politics. This is not balancing or spheres of influence. It is international politics based on elite cliques rather than national interest i.e. neo-royalism.

Social relationships are central to international migration, yet the role of network structure remains poorly understood. In this new @pnas.org paper, We used longitudinal data from 73 Honduran villages (N=15,480) over 6 yrs to disentangle effects of kinship, friendship, and economic ties.
