In an interview with WWLTV just now, Helena talked about the way contracting out city services is actually more expensive than doing them in-house a lot of the time. This is one line from her campaign that I've always liked and look forward to seeing how she applies it.

New Orleans has had the fewest murders this year since 1970. Carjackings are down 80% relative to 2022, vehicle burglaries are down 70%, shootings are down 63%. This is a wholly unnecessary stunt that will hurt local businesses.

railroads are more efficient when they get bigger - i'd support one big railroad! but if the goal is investor returns all you're gonna get is retrenchment and exploitation of captive shippers, until they reach the final goal of operating ratio 0 - a railroad which owns no tracks and runs no trains

I learned that 911 has an actual phone number when I was delivering pizzas and got a run to the call center and the number on the ticket (504, etc.) connected me to 911 when I tried to call them to collect their pizza.
