In contrast to the decision made a year ago by another major outlet to avoid even suggesting who would be a better choice for president.

Most insidious is how they're used to get women to buy into their own oppression. Framing trans women as a "threat" to "real women" [sic] results in lots of women buying into and reinforcing their own patriarchal based second class status.
Attacks on trans rights are often framed as efforts to "protect women."

But the reality is that such attacks only protect the patriarchy. Because enforcing a strict sex-based gender binary makes it easier to tilt that binary into a hierarchy where women are subordinate to men.
Big tech firms are shutting down programs aimed at supporting women in STEM careers. Signaling once again that the spine of corporate America is as hollow as its pockets are deep.

Tween: Mom, how many hours of sleep a night do you get?

Me: I dunno ... six, seven?

Tween: ... NEVER do that again. 😠

Just learned about ACACIA, which provides attorneys for KIDS detained by I CE. I felt helpless, this is one way to help.

This is the tiktok where I learned about it. I've been following this lawyer Reb for the Rebrand for a while, funny, good advice.

Threatening us all with a good time
this is what will happen if mamdani makes bus rides free
Last night at music school, a mom came in and asked if she could put her kid’s tuition on a different credit card because her husband’s work was shut down. 💔
Thinking of my many, many neighbors not getting their pay today

Know who else had a ballroom built on to his leader's residence?

Adolf Hitler.

He had a large ballroom/reception hall built at the Old Reich Chancellery as part of a major renovation when he became Chancellor.

It was designed by Albert Speer and completed in 1939.

No parallels there.
PSA: This good news is the result of actions by state lawmakers and elected officials. State elections matter at every level, every year. Something to remember with Election Day around the corner.
This week’s Work Advice: California bans stay-or-pay contracts that use training debt or other financial penalties to keep workers trapped in underpaid, abusive jobs. Thanks to Chris Hicks at Protect Borrowers for insights!

Despite setbacks at the federal level, a coalition of interest groups is successfully combating extortionary employment contracts state by state

The ACA gives people freedom to walk away from abusive partners and exploitative jobs.
The ACA allowed me to leave an abusive ex. I had a large, complex ovarian cyst (which I knew about bc I pretended to go to work and went to the ER instead - I was forbidden from going and told it was selfish).

He held the promise of the surgery I needed over my head. Until he couldn't anymore.
My best friend was able to leave her abusive husband because the ACA made it possible for her to still get health insurance

did you know they do this so they don't have to hire disabled people
It is deeply immoral that cashiers in the US are not allowed to sit.
Do you have any extremely niche, but serious, ethical stances?

Srsly. Signal-boost, like/comment. And a big part of that support?

If they made something you like, buy it.

Independent artists aren't Wal-Mart; you can't just come back next week and expect what you were looking at to still be available for sale.
Support the artists you like now because tomorrow you might not be able to find them.

Americans have gotten more than $21 billion back in their bank accounts after being cheated and scammed by big corporations, thanks to the CFPB.

But Trump and his Administration love grifters and scammers.

So they're trying to kill the agency holding them accountable.
