1. Dems pick Newsom or Kelly despite all the warnings from Black folk.

2. Dem primary winner says "Be more normal! Abandon trans folk + immigrants! More cops!"🤡

3. Lots of would-be Dem voters sit out. Again.

4. Dems lose to Vance or someone else Thiel approved.

5. Dems blame Black folk. Again.

The thing about being an US born person of immigrant extraction who has also lived in a couple of other countries and traveled to a bunch more is... I can be both very clear eyed in the way the US sucks while also being aware of how other countries use the USA's failings to distract from their own.

Amtrak's restored service between New Orleans and Mobile has far exceeded initial ridership projections since launch in August, just like what happened when the Borealis service was established between Chicago and St. Paul last year.

Amtrak is currently expecting to double the first-year estimates.
Gulf Coast train line is among the most successful in Amtrak’s history. See ridership totals.
The route’s early success has raised hope for some advocates of regional train travel. See how many people have taken the train since its launch in August.

There’s an 85-year-old activist out there trying to stop the Trump Presidential Library from becoming a real, permanent structure and honestly, if he pulls this off, he deserves a Presidential Medal of Freedom, a parade, and maybe a tax break for emotional labor.

insane local news just dropped. i've lived in a part of KC for ~decade and it's been an inside joke with friends and service workers that the local biz/party district is ran by a cartel of biz owners who bully out new ventures and replace them with generic dive bars for white suburbanites.

Well UH

I have been to countless naturalization ceremonies. Every single one has been emotionally moving. Federal judges fight over who gets to do them bc they are joyous, momentous, deeply meaningful events. People dress up. People FaceTime their relatives in other countries. People cry.

This is so ugly.

No, Progressives Don’t Want “Purity.” They Just Want Some Courage.
When left-leaning Democrats complain about corporate influence, it’s not a “purity test.” It’s a demand for a better politics.
