Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu appeared in court to testify in his corruption trial, days after US President Trump called for him to be pardoned. Protesters outside the court demanded the trial continue as a test of Israel’s democracy. Netanyahu denies all charges.

4/ So, you need to damn well ensure you never mention your employer in any shape/form/fashion on your personal social media accounts. And given the risk-averse nature of many employers, there is a risk to employees for speaking out, even on their own time/dime.

Thoughts?

Why does this matter?

Because people changed their names in order to deter discrimination. This went on for a good long while. I literally only learned some of my relatives actual first names a few years ago, while I was doing genealogy shit.

Another good time to remind people that “tear gas” is a term of copaganda that police, the military, and its manufacturers use to obscure that it is a dangerous chemical weapon internationally banned for use even in warfare.

If you still need to share a link to a tweet, but don't want to send people to Musk's cesspool - replace "x" with "xcancel" in the tweet link.

For example x.com/dril/status/...

becomes xcancel.com/dril/status/...

People will still see the tweet, but without going to Twitter.

yeah; my maternal grandparents changed their name to avoid antisemitism. this was in the 40s I believe.

Now, more than ever, it's important to understand why so many the myths we tell ourselves about immigration are actually very harmful.

First of all, your great-great-grandparents names *were not changed* at Ellis Island. No one there had the authority to do that.

It is difficult if not impossible to overstate the amount of damage that John Roberts has done to American democracy.

Wednesday is gonna be a rough day:

The Supreme Court will be hearing oral argument in a pair of cases that threaten what little remains of the federal government’s ability to protect voters from racial gerrymandering under the Voting Rights Act

Unconditional support for the Israeli government is counterproductive for both countries. If Trump can get tough, why not Congress and every potus? The Israel right-or-wrong position AIPAC, right-wing Christians, and some US Jews have held is no longer unassailable. open.substack.com/pub/contrari...
What now for Israel and Gaza?

I think what’s most frustrating right now for Black and Indigneous people is waiting for the bulk of white folks to catch up.

At some point the “this isn’t who we are” and “I didn’t have this on my bingo card” has to end and y’all will catch up, right? RIGHT?

WE NEED YOU TO CATCH UP.

Michigeese & ganders,

Here are easy ways to collect signatures:

1. Just get your friends & family. Any help helps.
2. If you're going to a #NoKings event, consider getting trained to collect in time for Saturday. You'll be fishing in a barrel and giving everyone a chance to make more of their day.

My wife is collecting signatures for a sweet ballot measure in Michigan that would tax income over $1,000,000 to reduce class sizes while recruiting and retaining great teachers.

But they're way behind.

So she was tasked with bringing in someone who could help gather signatures.

Could it be you?

the actual story here, which the media never talks about, is that police in this country have become a discrete right-wing political operation. the story isn't about cops leaving (they're lying about that), it's about the police trying to exert influence over elections.
