When US media companies buckled to Trump's pressure, I started thinking that maybe state-funded media was the solution. But here's state-funded media IN ANOTHER COUNTRY doing it, too. WTF?

Come have breakfast at the diner with us, they said.

Let's meet at 8:45, they said.

Let's go in our car, they said.

Happy Thanksgiving Eve, friends. May you never underestimate family plans that leave you dehydrated with a headache. Remember to wear comfortable shoes. Don't be a dumb dumb. 😝🤪🥴

Wow, a balm for the cynical magats.
New today on the site:

“Both WAKE UP DEAD MAN and CONCLAVE depict faith at work in a world that’s dark and growing darker. Each film holds faith up to the light and asks: In times like these, what are the faithful to do?”

This is the most DISGUSTING display of public human depravity. Why? Because they aren't subtle or secretive about its objective to use & validate the industrial deportation complex to give rich assholes the power to disappear & traffic ANY PERSON THEY HAVE POWER OVER.

That means me, you, all of us.
“After Ferreira was detained, Dos Santos Rodrigues said Michael Leavitt Sr. and his father, Bob Leavitt, reached out to her.”

“‘They just kept saying, ‘Tell her to self-deport,’” she recalled. “Self-deport to where? Brazil is not her home.’” www.bostonglobe.com/2025/11/26/m...
‘Brazil is not her home.’ Mother of Karoline Leavitt’s nephew, brought to US as child, detained by ICE. - The Boston Globe
Bruna Ferreira, 33, was brought to the United States as a child in 1998. She is now in removal proceedings in Louisiana.

Me on the 95 & GW Bridge last night, #NYC

Next time I'll take the Tappanzee. It was like a Gladiatorial Gambit from Hell.
several cars are driving down a street and one has a license plate that says ' aa '
Alt: several cars are racing down a street and weaving in and out of lanes through traffic

Me about to piss off a bunch of capitalists: If Bezos doesn’t want to pay his fair share in corporate taxes, I don’t see why we shouldn’t nationalise Amazon and make it a subsidiary of the post office.

This article heavily implies that ICE is being used in a custody dispute to help Karoline Leavitt's brother get his son and have the mother locked up in ICE detention
"A woman with a family connection to White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt has been arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents in Revere, Massachusetts."

Incredibly great news:
BREAKING: This is huge news, the EU's equivalent of the 🇺🇸Supreme Court's 2015 Obergefell v. Hodges ruling.

🇪🇺Court of Justice just ruled all 🇪🇺countries must recognise same-sex marriages granted in other member states.

This effectively legalises gay marriage across 🇪🇺

So much of the post-2024 discourse among Democrats has been infuriating, because it's essentially marginalizing the already marginalized. Dr. Crenshaw unpacks that so well. Transcript (newrepublic.com/article/2036...) and video (www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ihF...)

Floors me year after year that my editor at Del Rey, Tricia Narwani, isn't nominated for all the editor awards. A truly exceptional editor who understands a) how to deliver strong, constructive feedback nestled in effusive praise and b) the best editing identifies a problem without providing the fix
By the way, it's National Editor Appreciation Day.

Nobody ever reads a great article and thinks, "Dang, that was some tight editing." But editing is a big part of how it got to be great.

So writers, if you've ever worked with a good editor, shout 'em out.
