On MLK Day 2021, his family posted this picture of him. Seeing him in color reminded me that our history is not that far behind us. Seeing him at home with his kids broke me.

I think we really should stop using antifa and just fully say anti-fascist and get them saying they are against anti fascism. Using antifa is giving them some distance and I genuinely think some of their base don’t even know that’s what it stands for.

Dear President Obama,
I saw in your statement you said "Israeli families" & "the people of Gaza."
Palestinians have families, too.
This kind of language contributes to dehumanization. Dehumanization is part of what caused so many to stay silent as 20,000 children were killed in this genocide.
I've sat with wonderful Palestinian families from Gaza. They look at their children just like we look at ours - with all the love & hope in the world.

Everywhere I go in the world, queer and trans ppl are fighting the good fight on behalf of everyone. Here in Vaal, District 11, they are teaching ppl how to respect and help LGBTQ young ppl, migrants, women experiencing gender based violence (GBV) & ppl living w HIV/AIDS. It’s beautiful

“South Africa is a freedom country.” LGBT ppl are protected in the constitution. In the US and EU, we tend to think of migration as moving towards “the west,” but many if not most ppl persecuted for being LGBTQ in African countries try to get to South Africa
